COJAL Awards an Outstanding Public Administrator Honor to CSA’s Deputy Director-General

Hon. Darlington A. P. Smith, the Deputy Director-General for Human Resource Management and Policy at the Civil Service Agency (CSA), was honored with a certificate as an Outstanding Public Administrator for the year 2023-2024 in recognition for his diligent work and significant contributions to government by the Concern Journalists Association of Liberia (COJAL) on June 5, 2024.

COJAL, a collective of independent professional journalists from various media entities, including radio, newspapers, and online platforms, is dedicated to the journalistic training of emerging talents in Liberia. The association’s efforts focus on fostering a robust and ethical journalistic landscape in the country.

During the award observance, COJAL’s Executive Founder, Aloysius S. Chea, articulated the reasons behind the honor. He noted that the award is a meaningful acknowledgment of Hon. Smith’s dedication to human resource development, both within the CSA and at the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU). Mr. Chea highlighted that COJAL has been closely monitoring Hon. Smith’s activities and found his service to the nation commendable, thus meriting this special recognition.

Upon receiving the certificate, Hon. Darlington Smith expressed his gratitude to COJAL for their vigilance and recognition. He lauded the association for its role as a societal watchdog, for acknowledging his efforts in the public sector, and for his decade-plus of teaching at the university level.
The accolade not only celebrates Hon. Smith’s achievements but also underscores the importance of diligent public service and the positive impact of dedicated professionals in government roles.
