Joseph N. N. Swen

The result-oriented Director-General of the Civil Service Agency, who shall never mince his words in demanding proficiency from Staff in achieving set objectives through consolidated and corresponding effort, believes Civil Servants are Key catalysts in transmitting Government’s policies into action; hence, being acclaimed for improved performance, helps to generate an affianced and enthusiastic workforce, which in turn drives and harnesses enhanced motivation and performance.
Speaking at the Agency’s regular senior Staff Meeting, Hon. James A. Thompson couldn’t hold back in commending his Staff for what he termed, an improved level of Progress; thereby urged that the same energy be demonstrated at all times.
Hon. Thompson further averred that “The change that we always pray for our Country starts with us. There is no way we can expect Society to be better if we do nothing or offer very little. It will be difficult to change our Society. For us to change our Society, our mentality in providing government services must change.”
The Honorable Director-General cautioned that as Public Servants, through whom Government provides basic services to its citizenry, are expected to make the needed sacrifices and or create opportunities in administering those services.
“We must find ways to get things done; we must make the sacrifice and find opportunities to provide those services by engaging ourselves and always trying something we have not done well so as to improve ourselves as professionals; for there is never an ideal time”, the Honorable Director-General encouraged.
