Ministry of Foreign Affairs Benefits from LPA Scheme Procedural Training

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Focal Team on the Government of Liberia’s LPA Scheme, today, underwent a One-day Procedural Training.

Hon. Thelma E. Duncan Sawyer (Mrs.) – Deputy Minister for Administration (MFA) in her welcoming statement conveyed Minister Dee Maxwell Saah Kemayah’s delight in the Scheme and was pleased to have the Training carried out as a pre-requisite of the Scheme’s rollout.

Mrs. Duncan-Sawyer urged the MFA’s Team to take every detail of the training seriously as it would enable them provide accurate information about the LPA Scheme to the General Staff populace.

The Training was co-conducted by Borbor T. Sombai, Ministry of Finance and Development Planning, and Director Rufus Johnson, Civil Service Agency; with support from a team of experts from the CSA.

The Focal Team (MFA) appreciated the timeliness of the Training due to the mounting enthusiasm from their Staff; further suggested that there be a general Awareness Forum with MFA’s Staff.

To note, as part of the Government of Liberia’s strategy to enhance credit opportunities for all Civil Servants across Ministries and Agencies, the Legal Power of Attorney (LPA) Scheme is being piloted for six (6) months beginning with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFA); Finance and Development Planning (MFDP); and the Civil Service Agency (CSA). From the success of the piloted phase, it is anticipated to roll out to all Ministries and Agencies of Government.
