The Women Association of the Civil Service Agency (CSA) collaborated with the Ministry of Gender and other partners to launch the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence on November 25, 2024.
This year’s campaign, under the UNITE theme “Every 11 Minutes, one woman is killed” and “UNITE to End Violence against Women,” stresses the need for immediate action to eradicate violence against women and girls.
Violence against women is a pervasive issue affecting all countries and cultures, causing harm to millions of women and girls. November 25th, marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, and December 10th, Human Rights Day, commemorating the adoption of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights in 1948, were chosen to highlight significant global milestones.
The CSA’s involvement in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is pivotal in driving forward the campaign’s objectives. Through policy enforcement, public education, support services, capacity building, and fostering partnerships, the CSA helps to create a safer and more equitable society. By taking a proactive stance, the CSA exemplifies its commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women and girls, paving the way for a future free from violence.
