The Civil Service Agency (CSA) recently received a significant boost to its internal security operations with a generous donation of advanced security equipment from their security consultant, Mr. Victor Kpatakolee. The donation, made on Thursday, October 31, 2024, included two security jackets, a taser, a security scanner, six communication sets, headsets, and two sets of handcuffs. This state-of-the-art equipment aims to enhance the internal security measures at the CSA, ensuring the safety and protection of personnel and assets.
Mr. Kpatakolee, a US-trained security operative, stated that his donation was motivated by the CSA leadership’s hard work and dedication to transforming Liberia’s civil service under the guidance of Director-General Hon. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr. He also committed to assisting in training the CSA’s internal security unit on the effective use of the new equipment, ensuring that staff are well-prepared to handle any security challenges.
Receiving the donation, Hon. Joekai expressed his gratitude to Mr. Kpatakolee for his thoughtfulness and highlighted the importance of these security materials in improving the agency’s internal security. He called for the immediate and professional use of the gadgets, announcing that a security detail would be assigned to the agency’s entrance to monitor visitor influx and ensure a secure environment. The Deputy Director-General for Administration and Finance, Hon. Dahnu Mianyen, echoed the Director-General’s appreciation and assured that the equipment would be utilized effectively for its intended purpose.
The donation couldn’t have come at a better time. Given the Civil Service Agency’s pivotal role as the central government body responsible for human resources management and policy within Liberia’s civil service, it is crucial to implement strong security measures.
These measures ensure the safe and effective management and supervision of employment, as well as the implementation of essential reforms for a professional, efficient, and merit-based public sector. Security caution protects sensitive information, maintains operational continuity, and upholds public trust in the agency’s commitment to integrity and excellence. Effective security management enables the CSA to function efficiently, protect its assets, and uphold its mission to serve the public with accountability and transparency.
