Monrovia, Liberia โ October 17, 2026: The Civil Service Agency (CSA) on Friday, October 16, 2026, participated in a one-day validation workshop for the Government of Liberiaโs inaugural National Communications Strategy, held in the Charles Gbenyon Conference Hall, Ministry of Information on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.
The workshop, convened by the Ministry of Information (MOI), brought together Public Relations Officers from different Government Ministries, Agencies and Commissions (MACs) and stakeholders to review, critique, and validate the draft strategy document. At the workshop, the CSA was ably represented by Mr. Usman Maleek Kareem, Assistant Director of the Communications and Public Relations Division.
In his welcome remarks, the Acting Minister of Information, Hon. Johnny S. Tarkpah, thanked participants for their engagement and urged them to provide robust feedback and recommendations on the draft strategy.
An overview of the initiative was presented by Hon. Daniel O. Sando, Deputy Minister of Press and Public Affairs, who explained that the Strategy provides a clear and articulated framework to guide government communications.
Hon. Sando noted that the Strategy is designed to ensure credibility and transparency, advance national communications, mitigate crises, and promote accountable information dissemination. He reaffirmed the governmentโs commitment to the โOne Government, One Voiceโ message.
The workshop was facilitated by veteran Liberian journalist and Executive Director of the Center for Media Studies and Peacebuilding, Mr. Malcolm W. Joseph.

The workshop featured a working session in which participants were divided into groups and presented on each chapter of the draft strategy. A feedback recap session followed, during which concerns and recommendations were formally noted for incorporation into the final document.
Following the validation phase, the draft strategy will be refined into a finished product and forwarded to the Cabinet for consideration and final approval.

The CSA encourages all public servants to embrace the principles outlined in the National Communications Strategy as the government moves toward its final adoption.
The CSAโs participation underscores its commitment to fostering a coherent, transparent, and accountable public service communications framework across all branches of government.
