September 3, 2023: The Civil Service Agency (CSA) supports the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) to ensure that employees across various government entities are well-informed about tax regulations and their responsibilities. The campaign kicks off with an awareness session for CSA staff, aiming to enhance understanding and compliance with tax laws.
To begin, Hon. Josiah F. Joekai, Jr., Director-General of the Civil Service Agency, underscored the need for transparency and accountability in tax collection and expenditure: Thereby, he emphasized that taxes are essential for funding public services and infrastructure, which are vital for the country’s progress.

To note: The Civil Service Agency (CSA) is a central government agency with statutory responsibility to manage and improve the human resources capacity of the civil service, such as through human resources management, service delivery, policy implementation, capacity building, and merit-based employment.
These functions help the CSA to support the development of a competent and efficient civil service, which is essential for effective governance and public service delivery in Liberia.
While, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) is, by law, responsible for revenue collection, taxpayer education, enforcement of revenue laws, facilitation of trade, and policy implementation. With the aforementioned functions meant to help the LRA effectively manage Liberia’s revenue system and support the country’s economic growth and development.
