Mr. John T. Davies, despite the numerous challenges with the discharge of his duties; is always willing to go into the streets and leeward counties to perform his functions; ensuring that Private Security firms are in compliance with the Government of Liberia’s policy in paying taxes for their security firms; generating government’s revenue without any form of logistics.
As an Inspector and Head of Private Security of the Division of Public Safety, he has made lots of improvements and achievements within the division, such as accountability of revenue generated (this has been put in place unlike his predecessors).
In 2013/2014, the amount of US$40,000.00 was generated; exceeding the projected budget of S$30,000.00. For Fiscal Year 2014/2015, Mr. Davies again exceeded the projected amount of US$40,000.00; he generated US$48,000.00.  From July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, Mr. Davies continued to raise Government Revenue beyond expectations.
He exceeded the expected budget of US$50,000.00 and raised US$57,000.00.  Currently, the proposed budget is US$60,000.00 and Mr. Davies has so far generated the amount of US$57,000.00, whilst the fiscal year has not come to an end.
With the lack of logistics (office equipment, vehicle, computers, etc,), the division is operating effectively and efficiently through Mr. Davies’ initiatives. In most instances, he uses his personal resources to get things done; especially in the increment of government’s revenue generation every fiscal year.
Based on these success stories and in recognition of Mr. Davies’ work, particularly in revenue generation; the Civil Service Agency is pleased to congratulate him for winning the title of the Civil Servant of the Year 2017. And as a token of appreciation, we present to him this of US$1,000.00 or its equivalent.
Mr. John T. Davies was born unto the union of Madam Lucinda Gittens and Mr. John T. Davies, Sr., on October 10, 1986 in Monrovia, Liberia. He began his primary education at the Calvary Baptist Church School in 1998, and later enrolled at the Williams V.S. Tubman Silver Jubilee Junior High School in Caldwell, where he completed secondary education in 2004.
In 2010, he graduated from the Liberia National Police Academy in police science with emphasis in correction counseling. He is a 2015 graduate of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Public Administration.
Since 2009, he started working as a correction officer at the Ministry of Justice. In 2011, he was transferred to the Division of Public Safety as an Inspector. He was later promoted in 2013 to the position of Chief of Private Security, the position he holds currently.
Mr. John T. Davies is a hardworking, dedicated and long service employee at the Ministry of Justice Central Office. Since his employment, he has served in various capacities including: Correction Officer (Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation), Inspector (Division of Public Safety), and now Chief of Private Security.
